Questions we hear
from founders
If your question isn't answered here, use the support link at the bottom of any page — we answer every one.
What exactly does FinixNorth do?
We provide capital to small businesses and innovative companies, and we stay involved afterwards. That second part is the point — every business we fund gets a named contact who knows the business, checks in regularly, and makes introductions where they help.
What kind of businesses do you fund?
Small and growing businesses across a wide range of sectors — retail and e-commerce, food and beverage, manufacturing, construction and trades, professional services, healthcare, technology, logistics, agriculture, hospitality and education among them.
We care more about whether the business works and whether we can genuinely help than about which industry it sits in.
Do you fund pre-revenue businesses?
Sometimes. Pre-revenue is an option on the application and it isn't an automatic no, but the bar is different — we'll want to understand the plan, the market and the people in more depth. Most of the businesses we back have revenue already.
How do I apply?
Create an account with the Get Started button (or the sign-up page), confirm your email, then complete the application form inside your dashboard. It covers your details, your business, what you need the capital for, and how you'd prefer to have the first conversation. It takes about two minutes.
Does it cost anything to apply?
No. Applying is free and carries no obligation on either side. We do not charge application, arrangement or assessment fees to review your business.
What happens after I submit?
A member of the team reviews your application and reaches out within two business days to arrange the conversation you asked for — video call, phone call, or questions by email first.
If we're not the right fit, we'll tell you that directly rather than leaving you waiting.
What documents will I need?
Nothing at the application stage beyond the form itself. If we take things further, expect to share recent financial statements or management accounts, bank statements, proof of business registration, and identification for the owners or directors. We'll tell you exactly what's needed before we ask for it.
My business isn't registered yet. Can I still apply?
Yes. "Not yet registered" is a valid option on the form and the company registration number is optional. It will come up in the conversation, but it doesn't stop you applying.
How much funding is available?
The application covers ranges from under $25,000 through to over $500,000. The right figure depends on the business, what the capital is for, and what it can comfortably support — which is a conversation, not a calculator.
Is this a loan, or do you take equity?
It depends on the business and what suits it. We work with flexible structures and agree terms with you directly rather than applying one product to every business. Revenue-based financing — where repayments flex with what the business actually earns — is something we're actively building out.
Whatever the structure, the terms are set out in writing before anything is signed.
How long does the whole process take?
First contact happens within two business days. Beyond that, timing depends on the size of the funding and how quickly information comes together. Speeding this up is an active priority — a clear yes or no in days rather than months is what we're building towards.
What does the partnership actually involve?
Regular check-ins with your contact at FinixNorth, introductions to industry partners and mentors where they're useful, and advisory support on the financial decisions that come with growing. It's support, not oversight — we're not there to run your business.
Can I come back for more funding later?
Yes. Follow-on capital for businesses that hit their milestones is part of how we work — knowing a business already is the biggest advantage in funding it again.
What happens to the data I submit?
It's stored securely and used to assess your application and contact you about it. We don't sell it or share it for marketing. Full detail is in ourPrivacy Policy.
Do you give investment or financial advice?
No. Nothing on this site or in our conversations is personalised investment, tax or legal advice. We're a funding partner — you should take independent professional advice on decisions affecting your business.
